Affordable Housing Societies provides housing for families, seniors and singles/couples.
Family housing includes two, three and four bedroom apartments or townhouses. All properties have playground equipment and an amenity room. Coin operated laundry is available. In some cases the units also have hook-ups for residents who have their own washer and dryer. All units have a fridge and stove and drapes or blinds and 1 or 11/2 bathrooms. Parking is available for residents and visitors. Three of the properties have a licensed daycare on site.
Seniors housing includes bachelor and one bedroom apartments. All apartments have a fridge and stove and drapes or blinds. Coin operated laundry equipment and amenity rooms for the seniors’ use are included on all properties. Some parking is available for residents. Applicants must be at least 55 years old to qualify for seniors housing.
Singles/couples housing ranges from individual rooms to bachelor, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Some of the family housing sites also have a limited number of bachelor and one bedroom apartments.
Most of the properties have units designed to accommodate people who use wheelchairs, walkers or mobility aids. “M” markers on maps indicate the availability of Market units. Some of the properties also have non-residential space that is leased out to commercial tenants or community organizations.
