It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Lyle Nicklin announces his sudden passing at age 63.  Bob passed away peacefully on August 2, 2016 in New Westminster, B.C.

Bob was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan and moved several times throughout the province as a young boy with his family.

Bob’s long career included working in banking, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation & the last 24 years with Affordable Housing Societies  of BC where he was the CEO and led the organization’s growth and influenced profoundly the social housing sector in BC.

Bob was a true sports enthusiast and ran several marathons including winning the Seattle marathon on October 13, 1985 in record time (2:28:38) as well winning the Royal Victoria marathon in 1981.

Bob’s love of sports carried on through the years, and his most cherished memories was watching his sons Kevin and Steven play sports.

Bob’s wife Zuly, sons Kevin and Steven, parents Marvin and Kay Nicklin, family and friends will always cherish his memory with deep love and fondness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby, at 1 PM.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
